ISO 22000:2018 Auditor Conversion Course (CQI and IRCA 2065)

This course is to provide existing auditors of other management system disciplines the knowledge and skills to perform third-party audits of a food safety management system against ISO 22000, and in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO 17021, as applicable.

The successful completion of this course will increase learners’ credibility, enable learners to conduct third-partyrd audits against ISO 22000, and satisfy the formal training requirements for individuals seeking to become a certified Auditor or Lead Auditor with CQI and IRCA.

Who Should Attend

  • Existing auditors of other management system disciplines:
  • Line/Support function personnel who are involved in FSMS implementation;
  • All auditors who wish to acquire an internationally recognized FSMS auditor status.

What will you learn

  • Understand the purpose of a FSMS, FSMS standards, management system audit, third-party certification, and business benefits from the improved performance of the FSMS
  • Understand the FSMS standard framework of Plan-Do-Check-Act, interrelationship with top management commitment, policies, objectives, planning, implementation measurement, review, and continuous improvement
  • Plan, conduct, report and follow up an audit of a food safety management system to establish conformity (or otherwise) with ISO 22000 and in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO 17021, as applicable.

What do you need to know prior to enrolling

  • Understanding of the PDCA cycle and management system elements of ISO 22000: knowledge of the principles of food safety management, including prerequisite programs as specified in ISO/TS 22002 and HACCP; understanding of the relationship between food safety management and the provision of safe food products to prevent or minimize adverse effects on human health, and the proactive improvement of food safety performance; Awareness of common examples of relevant national and local FSMS legislation and requirements
  • Knowledge of ISO 22000 requirements and commonly used terms and definitions
  • Management systems audit: Knowledge of management systems audit through satisfactory completion of a CQI and IRCA certified Lead Auditor Course (or acceptable alternative) in another discipline.

Learners who have not successfully completed a CQI and IRCA Certified Lead Auditor Course in another discipline are unlikely to complete this 24-hour course successfully and will find the 40-hour ISO 22000:2018 Lead Auditor(OH&SMS) course more appropriate.

Delivery Methodology

This course is structured with sizeable time spent on activity-based learning. There are many  group exercises, workshops and case studies for discussions, presentations and interactions between learners and tutors.
