Share with us your role at GICG

Managing the compliance team, I ensure our companies comply with accreditation rules and certification requirements.

My responsibilities include managing the certification activities of overseas offices and providing support to our subsidiary office in China.

I am also responsible for maintaining the company’s management system, including preparing and conducting internal and external assessments.

On a daily basis, I approve applications, assess technical documents of auditors for qualification, perform certification decisions, and address accreditation, technical, and operational issues.


How does a typical workday look like for you?

Every day begins with a healthy breakfast.
Before we leave for the day, I prepare a protein-rich breakfast for my family.

During my commute, I enjoy listening to my favour radio channel to unwind, and to read headline news, especially industry-related stories.

My evening routine includes a 30-minute walk in the neighborhood park to unwind and burn calories.


What are the qualities you look for in a team member?

Patient, keeping calm under pressure, having strong communication and problem-solving skills, good situational awareness and detail-oriented are key.


What attracted you to the Testing, Inspection, and Certification industry?

The TIC industry catalyses business and growth, to help ambitious companies to move faster, sustainably. I knew I wanted to be part of this dynamic industry to provide quality assurance to clients to protect brands, reduce risks and quicken time-to-market, as well as overcome trade barriers to access to overseas markets.



GICG offers me the opportunity to collaborate with teams from across five continents from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

As someone who has witnessed GICG’s growth from a certification company to a global conformity assessment organization, it has been an eye-opener.

I am driven by meeting clients’ objectives and goals, ensuring quality, ensuring health and safety, protecting information, mitigating risks, and improving performance as well as protecting the environment.

Share with us what you do at GICG

I oversee the day to day business and lead the commercial and operational activities behind GICG’s management system certification and training business in Singapore.

My workdays are never the same. I direct and lead the various teams to attain the vision and goals of the company by developing both long and short-term plans and strategies as well as build and maintain effective relationships with my peer, clients, associates, government authorities, accreditation bodies and impartial committee members.


How does a typical workday look like for you?

My morning begins early at 6.30am with a hearty breakfast and commute to the office.

My routine includes reviewing the upcoming audit schedules, planning for new business opportunities, overseeing my teams delivery of projects and guiding my teams to ensure smooth day to day operations.

I end my day by grooving to some tunes to unwind after a hard day’s of work



What do you like most about your job?

Meeting our clients’ expectations and delivering trust to their businesses.


What is the biggest challenge?

Time is never enough, there is always so much more I want to do in a day.


What are the qualities you look for in a team member?

Open communication and to be proactive, honest and humble.


What’s your proudest achievement in GIGC?

One of my proudest moment was to lead GICG to achieve the recognition of Top Achiever Certification Body (Cyber Essentials) as part of CSA’s Cybersecurity Certification Scheme for Organisations under its SG Cyber Safe Programme.
