ISO 45001:2018 Auditor Conversion Course
(CQI and IRCA 1960)

This course is to provide existing auditors of other management system disciplines the knowledge and skills to perform third-party audits of an occupational health & safety management system against ISO 45001, and in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO 17021, where applicable.

Guardian Independent Certification Limited is an approved training partner of Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) and International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA) of the United Kingdom and this course is certified by CQI and IRCA with Registration No. 1960.

The successful completion of this course will increase learners’ credibility, enable learners to conduct third-partyrd audits against ISO 45001, and satisfy the formal training requirements for individuals seeking to become a certified auditor or lead auditor with CQI and IRCA.

  • Know and understand the purpose of an OHSMS, OHSMS standard, management system audit, third-party certification and business benefits of improved performance of the OHSMS
  • Understand the OHSMS standard framework of Plan-Do-Check-Act, interrelationship pertaining to top management commitment, policies, objectives, planning, implementation measurement, plus review and continuous improvement
  • Plan, conduct, report and follow up on an audit of an occupational health and safety management system to establish conformity (or otherwise) with ISO 45001 and in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO 17021, where applicable.

What do you need to know prior to enrolling

  • Knowledge of Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) Cycle
  • Understanding of the core elements of a management system and the interrelationship pertaining to the top management responsibility, policies, objectives, planning, implementation, measurement, plus review and continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of the concepts of managing occupational health and safety through hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control, and compliance with legal requirements and other requirements
  • Understanding of the relationship pertaining to occupational health and safety management, provision of safe and healthy workplaces, prevention of work-related injury and ill health, and the proactive improvement of health and safety performance
  • Knowledge of common examples of relevant national and local OHSMS legislation and requirements
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 requirements, plus commonly used terms and definitions
  • Management systems audit: knowledge of management system audits through satisfactory completion of a CQI and IRCA certified Lead Auditor Course (or acceptable alternative) in another discipline.

Learners who have not successfully completed a CQI and IRCA Certified Lead Auditor Course in another discipline are unlikely to complete this 24-hour course successfully and will find the 40-hour ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor (OHSMS) course more suitable.

Delivery Methodology

  • A 24-hour virtual classroom course delivered over three days or
  • A 24-hours traditional face-to-face classroom course delivered over three days

This course is structured with sizeable time spent on activity-based learning. There are many group exercises, workshops and case studies for discussions, presentations, and interactions between learners and tutors.

The virtual classroom courses are delivered in real time via our online platform and provide learners with the flexibility of attending from a convenient place, without the requirement of traveling. However, the examination is required to be taken physically within one month of completing the course.
