ISO 14001:2015 Auditor Conversion Course
(CQI and IRCA 1699)

This course is to provide existing auditors of other management system disciplines to acquire the knowledge and skills to perform third-partyrd audits of an EMS against ISO 14001, and in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO 17021, where applicable.

Guardian Independent Certification Limited is an approved training partner of Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) and International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA) of the United Kingdom and this course is certified by CQI and IRCA with Registration No. 1699.

The successful completion of this course will increase learners’ credibility, enable learners to conduct 3rd party audits against ISO 14001, and satisfy the formal training requirements for individuals seeking to become a certified Auditor or Lead Auditor with CQI and IRCA.

What do you need to know prior to enrolling

  • Understanding the concept of environmental sustainable development
  • Understanding the purpose of an initial environmental review
  • Evaluation of activities, products and services in order to establish environmental aspects associated with normal operating conditions, abnormal conditions such as start-up and shutdown, plus emergency situations and accidents
  • Consideration of environmental aspects with respect to: emission to air, release to water, release to land, use of raw materials, natural resources and energy, energy emitted and lost, public nuisance… etc.
  • Understanding of environmental legislation and how legal compliance forms part of an environmental management system
  • Knowledge of the typical methods for evaluating the significant impact of the environmental aspects identified and how their ranking influences operational control and priorities for improvement
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 requirements and commonly used terms and definitions
  • Understanding of management systems audit: knowledge of management systems audit through satisfactory completion of a CQI and IRCA certified Lead Auditor Course (or acceptable alternative) in another discipline

Learners who have not successfully completed a CQI and IRCA Certified Lead Auditor Course in another discipline are unlikely to complete this 24-hour course successfully and will find the 40-hour ISO 14001:2015 Lead Auditor(EMS) course more appropriate

Delivery Methodology

Two options:

  • A 24-hour virtual classroom course delivered over three days or
  • A 24-hour traditional face-to-face classroom course delivered over three days

This course is structured with sizeable time spent on activity-based learning. There are many group exercises, workshops and case studies for discussions, presentations and interactions between learners and tutors

The virtual classroom courses are delivered in real time via our online platform and provide learners with the flexibility of attending from a convenient place, without the requirement of travelling. However, the examination is required to be taken physically within one month of completing the course.
